During the dry season, the lake dries up to reveal colored spots on the surface, depending on the presence of the type of mineral that area holds most.
These round spots are usually of white, blue, green or yellow color and contain magnesium, sodium or calcium, which when set, hardens up to create an artificial walking path around the lake.
Mount Thor, Nunavut
The trip to the top of this granite summit of the near vertical peak, requires the ultimate in fitness and stamina and is a mecca for rapelling buffs.
