4 Must-Try Vegan Dishes

in Smart Food on 06/22/22

Perfect for new vegans, these 4 must-try recipes are delicious and nutritious. We’ve gathered the best vegan recipes to satisfy your hunger without breaking your wallet. These dishes are easy to make and very popular. Even if you eat out, you’re likely to find them on a menu.

We made sure to include recipes that go well with other vegan foods so you can include them as part of an even bigger meal. If you’re new to veganism and don’t have much experience in the kitchen, these dishes are perfect for you.

1. Deep Fried Cauliflower

Cauliflower is often used as a replacement for meat because it’s nutritious and easy to cook. Deep fried cauliflower is a classic among many long-time vegans because it’s easy to make and just as good as any fried chicken.

The recipe involves the following ingredients for the batter:

  • Gluten-free flour
  • Baking powder
  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Chopped onions
  • Garlic powder

Like typical fried chicken, the cauliflower is covered in the batter and then dipped in canola oil. It takes but a few minutes to make and the result is a crispy, delicious treat you can share with friends.

2. Red Bean Stew

Red bean stew is the perfect chicken soup replacement. As a matter of fact, it just might be better than chicken soup. This hearty meal is rich in iron, fiber, and protein. It’s a great meal to make if you’re sick. The warmth will soothe your throat and the nutrients will help you recover faster.

Red bean stew can be made with just about anything. You can add ingredients like:

  • Tomatoes
  • Carrots
  • Vegetables
  • Minced garlic
  • Garlic powder
  • Tomato sauce
  • Parsley
  • Black pepper

3. Vegan Meatballs

Vegan meatballs can be made with different ingredients. You can make it with beans, vegan sausages, mushrooms, or cauliflower. Whichever you choose needs to be blended together with vegetables, spices, tomato sauce, and herbs.

The paste is chilled for a few hours and then it’s ready to be made into balls and cooked. You can either boil the meatballs or fry them in a pan or air fryer.

4. Stir-Fry Tofu

Stir-fry tofu is a common Asian dish that is both filling and flavorful. Tofu gets a bad reputation for being bland. But, if you cook it the way it’s meant to be cooked, it will become one of your favorite meals.

Take tofu cubes and cook them over your oil of choice in a wok or skillet until they become golden brown. Add vegetables and sauce. The sauce usually contains soy sauce, minced garlic or garlic powder, sesame oil, and green onion.
